The Writing Lab鈥檚 aim is to help students improve their writing. While we do not copyedit, proofread, or fix students鈥� papers, we do help students become better writers by acting as an interested audience.

The WL tutors engage students in conversation about their work, pose challenging questions, act as mirrors by saying back what a student has said, and ask students to write to think, reflect, or practice skills.

What we can do for you

• We can visit your class to introduce the Writing Lab to your students: please email Ann Mott at聽amottaup.edu聽to schedule a class visit.
• We can provide session reports: if you would like to receive an emailed report of your student鈥檚 session, please ask the student to let us know during her consultation.
• We can work with you to make our tutors more aware of conventions in your discipline: the more we know about the type of writing you are looking for, the better we can help your students.聽聽
