Rebecca Marwege joined the department of History and Politics in August 2025. Prior to moving to Paris, she completed her聽Ph.D. in Political Science at Columbia University, with research focused on climate politics, social movements, and critical theory.
At Columbia University, Marwege served as a Lecturer in Environmental and Climate Justice and as the Junior Director of Columbia鈥檚 Earth Network on Decarbonization, Climate Resilience, and Climate Justice - a four-year, interdisciplinary research network supported by Columbia Climate School.
She is currently working on her book project,聽Climate Action, Movements and Political Change, which explores how youth climate movements are redefining climate justice and driving political transformation. She is also the lead editor of聽Climate Justice Now! 鈥 Crossing Disciplines to Combat Our Planetary Crisis, under contract with Columbia University Press.
Marwege's work has been published in the聽Journal of Political Theology听补苍诲听Constellations聽and is forthcoming in聽Polity.聽She has also聽contributed public scholarship in Spanish to聽Foreign Affairs Latin America听补苍诲听Revista Com煤n.
