Gabriel Wick

Professor Wick is an art historian, writer and curator whose research focuses on the designed environment. He first taught at 绿巨人视频 in 2014. He initially trained as a landscape architect and planner at the University of California, Berkeley (MLA, 2003) and worked in those fields in听New York and Paris. In 2011 he completed a second masters on the conservation of historic landscapes at 脡NSA鈥揤ersailles. In 2017 he completed his doctoral research听in history at Queen Mary鈥揢niversity of London.听
His research focuses on 18th-century landscapes, designs and political culture. He is the author of听Gardens in Revolution: Landscapes and Political Culture in France, 1760鈥1792听(Harvey Miller / Brepols, 2025). He also co-curated the exhibitions听Comte d'Artois: Prince et M茅c猫ne听(Ch芒teau of Maisons / CMN, Winter 2025-2026);听Le Petit Salon听(Middlebury College Art Museum, Autumn, 2025);听Vivre 脿 l'Antique听(Ch芒teau of Rambouillet听/ CMN, Spring 2021) and听Hubert Robert et la fabrique des Jardins听(Ch芒teau of La Roche-Guyon, Autumn 2017).听
His current research project looks at 18th-century authors' homes and gardens. He teaches at NYU Paris and also lectures for the 脡cole du Louvre.听
